Representing Team GB for the first time, Tomer Tarragano struck team gold at the European Cross Country Championships near Turin.
On frozen ground in Piemonte, it was an exciting, undulating and slippery course that took athletes up extremely steep hills and through a magnificent Palazzo. Tomer finished as the 6th GB runner. Teammate Charles Hicks successfully defended his under-23 title. Zakariya Mahamad was the silver medallist, and with Mathew Stonier in 8th, Rory Leonard 11th, Joseph Wigfield 13th and Tomer in 37th place, the team victory was secured.
Tomer has been a member of Brighton and Hove since he was 10 years old. He was coached by John Clements for many years. Now at university of the Birmingham Tomer is coached by Dean Miller.
