A third successive win for the Mens team puts us in a great position for promotion straight back to Division One. Lots of highlights including a double 1st and double pb’s for Pole Vaulters Dave Ingram (4.41) and Jack Hanrahan (3.60) which Dave then followed up with a huge pb and B string win of 16.4 in 110m Hurdles. Two other doubles 1st’s on the track were by the one lappers Andy Adair and Rich Clayton and by chasers Andrew Donno and steeple-virgin Kev Mason.
A welcome return by Sam Parsons from injury gained a 2nd in the 400m Hurdles and he was a part of a strong 4 x 400m Relay squad that won in a nifty 3.27.4. We had a number of guest runners in various races who provided some impressive performances – 200m Gwil Cooper 23.8, 400m Ashley Witcomb 52.5, Matt Dorrington (U15) 53.5, Joe Pybus (U15) 55.9 and 1500m Rich Airey 4.07.6
Our throwers had a great day on the manicured grass of Withdean with all the A sting winners in the 4 throws – Will Wilson (Hammer), Mike Steele-Martin (Javelin) and debutant Jake Scanlon (Shot and Discus) – great performances which give them the combined MEN OF THE MATCH awards.
Next match is June 28th at Worthing with a tough Sussex match against Worthing and Hastings and two tough teams from Enfield and Norwich.
