A note on expectations for U14-U20 Athletes
The Club has more athletes than ever before and long waiting lists, but we are still struggling to field full teams for league matches and other club events. Our team managers work extremely hard throughout the season to fill every event and pull complete teams together, but this has become increasingly difficult.

Competing is a key part of belonging to our club. Training is hugely important, but it is only part of the experience. When athletes join, they sign up to a commitment to compete and become part of a team, with a shared responsibility to represent the club in league matches and team events whenever possible. From now on, athletes who show a consistent commitment to competing for the club in league matches and team events will be given priority for places in training groups.

Summer Season round up

As the summer season draws to a close here a some reports from Team Managers on the results of some of the leagues. If you want your team to feature here please send in a report to Paula (paula.blackledge@brightonandhoveac.com)

Southern Athletics League – An amazing 3rd in Premier League

A fantastic third place finish for our SAL team this season in the SAL Premier Division. Cementing our place as one of the top 3 clubs out of all of the 95 clubs entered into the southern league. So proud as a club to see everyone achieve such great results across the four meets, our athletes produced 62 PB’s across the SAL matches this season and 66 individual event wins!

Congratulations to our male and women’s highest points scorers throughout the season with Dylan Parr achieving the most points (56 pts) for the men and Freya Brennand with the most points scored for the women (47 pts). A massive thank you goes out to all the athletes , officials and coaches who have made this possible your performances and effort is unmatched!

Thanks again and see you next season where we will be joined by the upper age group U16’s as they move into U18’s and become eligible for these competitions.

Sussex Vets League

Congratulations to the club’s Masters women who won the women’s league, and to the whole team who finished second overall behind the combined Lewes and Haywards Heath team.
The outstanding performance in the final league match came from Stefanie Dornbusch, who achieved a 15cm PB with a 2.70m pole vault, which we believe is a league record and county masters record too.
From the team: A HUGE thanks to Jo Wilding and Mike Bannister for another year of splendid team management!

We are particularly looking for people with finance experience who could take on some or parts of the Treasurer role.

There is a list of roles we are looking to fill on the website, but if you just have a small amount of time we do have other ad-hoc roles to fill. Use this form to express your interest: Fill in the Volunteer sign-up form
