An outstanding performance by Under 17 Louis Opoku, in which he launched his javelin out to 60.83m at the England Athletics age-group champs, took him to the top of the podium. From fourth in the English Schools last month, Louis beat all the boys ahead of him in the rankings. And there were two B&H vests on the podium and Louis’s training partner and clubmate, Barney Hastings, clinched the bronze with a throw of 56.66m.
In the Under 17 Women’s javelin competition, the ever-consistent Dulcie Yelling secured third place with a throw of 46.07 meters. In the under-15 girls’ triple jump competition, Jaiden Best leapt to 10.45m, earning her the bronze medal.
