What a start to the Sportshall season! In Match 1, Brighton took a comfortable lead ahead of our main rivals Crawley.
Our more experienced athletes delivered outstanding performances: Martha C and Rosa P secured 1st place in their 4-lap races, while Jude P and Jonathan L triumphed in the standing triple jump and vertical jump, respectively.
Up-and-coming athletes also showcased their talent. Special mention to our U11 boys, with Jacob J leading the way in his 1-lap race with an impressive time of 12.8 seconds. Ben S and Barnaby M both secured a strong 2nd place in their 4-lap races. In the U13 girls category, Amelie H claimed 2nd place in her 2-lap race, and Betty G, Jasmin S, Seren R, and Florence M all clinched victory in the 4-lap and 6-lap races.
I wish I could mention everyone because, as always, the team atmosphere was strong. Many athletes embraced new events, showcasing their commitment to the club. The true B&H spirit was evident, with athletes supporting each other. It was particularly heartening to see the U11s eager to watch the U15s excel—an aspiration for the future!
Sportshall enables participation in various activities and is a great way to get accustomed to competition. We encourage everyone to take part. We particularly need boys in all age groups, so mark your calendars for the next two dates: January 14th and February 18th. We need U11s, U13s, and U15s!
