Brighton and Hove athlete Amber Anning has been selected to represent Team GB at the upcoming World Championships in Budapest later this month, where she will compete in the 4x400m relays.
Amber had an outstanding indoor season, achieving a county record and a world qualifying time of 50.68s, propelling her to third place on the British All-Time list. However, an early outdoor season injury hindered her progress. Nevertheless, she displayed immense determination and resilience to make a comeback. Just two weeks ago, she finished fourth in the British Championships, missing a medal by 1/100th.
This marks Amber’s second time representing Britain as a senior on the international stage. Previously, she wore the Team GB vest at the 2019 European Indoor Championships as an 18-year-old. There, she contributed to the silver medal-winning 4x400m relay team and also competed in the individual 400m event.
Congratulations, Amber!
