The 24-year-old crossed the line in dramatic fashion in 50.60 ahead of American Alexis Holmes.
This was despite having to recover from a derailment after Holmes shoved her out of her lane at the break.
Amber was heartbroken just two weeks before after being disqualified for a lane infringement at the European Athletics Champs, where she was a medal favourite.
She had not planned to run in China, but she chose not to end her season on a DQ – a great decision, as she is now celebrating making history as the first British woman to win the 400m (or any sprint) World Athletics Indoor Championship title!
On her return to the UK, Amber travelled straight to Manchester for multiple interviews on BBC TV and Radio before returning to London to appear on ITV News also.
Amber has been a club member since she was nine, and we at Brighton and Hove AC are very proud of her continuing success.
