In his first 5K race on the roads, Brighton & Hove’s Ian Crowe-Wright ran a strong 14:23 to lead the field of 337 runners home at the #PB5K Winter Race Series at Ardingly. It was tight at the top with just eight seconds separating the top six athletes.
There was a strong turnout from our club athletes and we had three other age group winners. Howard Bristow was first in the V45M category in a time of 16:09. Under 17 Eadie Yelling had a storming race to lead home her age group in 18:33. And Thomas Matthews shot to number two in the 2020 UK U13 Boys Rankings with a fabulous 18:05.
Some of our club’s youngest athletes were running in the mile race, recording some great results as well. Ten year old George Gilbert led the B&H athletes home with a fine 5:40 for third place overall, and first in his age group.
