U15 league records tumble to B&H athletes, 12th July

August 30, 2017

In almost perfect conditions at Lewes newly crowned English Schools Junior javelin champion Lizzie Korczak broke the League record again having broken it in June and then lost it a couple of days later to Horsham’s Peanut Meekings.

Although the atmosphere at Lewes was a little different to the Schools meeting at Birmingham Korczak was still up for some fine throwing and she ended up setting a new League record of 37.38m.

The next record came towards the end of the meeting when Lois Dooley, who had also been in action at Birmingham at the weekend, only had club mate Rebecca Losh for opposition set off on her own and had a remarkable run to clock 4:47.8s to remove nearly three seconds from Almi Nerurkar’s (Phoenix) three year old mark.

In the team event Brighton & Hove were comfortable winners with 206 points to Lewes who scored 164 points, Eastbourne who totalled 127 and Brighton Phoenix with 40 points.
