Last weekend U15’s Amber Anning and Tom Eames were amongst several B&H athletes who travelled to Lee Valley for the Southern Indoor U17/U15 Championships. Amber struck gold twice. Firstly in the 300m where she ran a Championship Best Performance in the heat before smashing this and also setting a UK U15W All time indoor best of 40.32 seconds.
Amber followed her 300m victory with a 10.98m triple jump. Competing as a U17W, her leap was the same as the gold medallist but on count back she was squeezed into silver. Amber returned the following day to run the 200m, setting a PB in the semi and again in the final where she once again won gold in a nippy indoor time of 25.53 seconds.
Meanwhile Tom Eames won the 1500m on Saturday in 4.42.34 and followed this with an 800m heat win and silver medal in the final on Sunday in a time of 2:15.15.
In the U15M Long Jump first year U15 Alex Dyball took the bronze medal with a personal best leap of 4.76m.
Great performances all round and well done to all our athletes who competed. This weekend sees the Senior and U20 Championships also at Lee Valley.
