Stephen Ferroni was a first time winner at Lancing taking the Men’s race after a battle with club mate Howard Bristow. It was not until they were into the second half of the event that 18 year old Ferroni squeezed the pace and moved clear of the field and stretched his lead all the way to the finish in 28:42, nearly half of one minute clear of Bristow’s 29:10.
There was an excellent turnout in the younger age groups with a total of 30 Brighton and Hove AC under 13 and under 15 athletes completing – possibly a club record. There were again many excellent performances. With one league fixture to go, all are four teams are in medal positions. The final league race is at a new venue at Hickstead on the 13th February 2016 where, with a few of the leading athletes missing there will be a great chance for others to get in the scoring three.
