A hat trick of gold’s in the triple jump was amongst the highlights of the Sussex Indoor Championships last weekend. Jack Valeri leapt 14.17m to win the senior men’s title, Jonah Adomakoh took the U20 title with 13.28m and Annie Onions won the senior women’s crown with 10.68m. Other high points included U17’s George Turner’s clearance of 4.06m in the Pole Vault and Matt Smith’s double gold in High Jump (1.70m) and Long Jump (5.90m). There was also a clean sweep of medals for B&H in the U20 Men’s 60m with Jamie Savage taking gold (7.45) from Nathan Parker (7.49) with Michael Papanicola in third in 7.56.
Despite a last minute surge of Sussex entries some events had so few competitors that athletes only had to turn up and cross the finishing line to be amongst the medallists.
