The senior mens team recently attended the National Six Stage Road Relays in Sutton Park Birmingham having qualified through the Southern Road Relays at Aldershot.
Competing against around 80 other teams, the team finished in an excellent 21st position in a time of 1:50:58. This is easily the highest finishing position for the club in recent years, and taking around full 5 minutes off our time when the event was last held at Sutton Park in 2011.
The team performed brilliantly and the honours of the day had to go to Will Gray, who had an exceptional opening leg of 17:17 which saw him hand over to Kev Rojas in 1st position. Will’s leg was also the 5th quickest of the day, so a massive well done to him. It sure raised a few eye brows seeing the red and black lead this event.
Kev followed up with a very impressive 18.06 for 8th place on leg 2, Howard Bristow 18:25 on leg 3 and Josh M 18:40 on leg 4 with them both slicing more than a minute off their 2011 performances. Finally, Andy Donno completed the 5th leg in 19.17 and Ian Crowe-Wright in his second year running the relays showing he is a valuable addition to the team, ran the final leg 19.13 to bring the team home in 21st overall. Once again well done to everyone.
