There was another great turnout on Saturday when 28 of our youngsters competed in the second Sussex league fixture at a very muddy Plumpton. There were many outstanding performances and team results. There are too many names to mention, however the run of the day was from U15 Tomer Tarragano who made light of the conditions to finish an excellent third and is a reserve for the Sussex Inter Counties team.
The biggest improvement was from Tom Roberts, a first year U13, who moved from 24th at Goodwood to 10th at Plumpton. The next highest placing was from U17 Brodie Denholm in 5th. Brodie has been selected for the inter counties team along with U13 Finn Halloran who came 6th in his age group. Other top 10 finishers were Tom Eames U15 in 8th, Olivia Monk U15 in 7th and for the U13’s Niamh Halloran in 7th, followed by Flo Robinson in 8th. Pia Lewis in her first season was not far behind in 10th. These girls are all waiting to see if they have been selected for Sussex. In the team events on the day the U13 and U15 boys were second with the U13 girls were third.
Overall the U13 girls are in 3rd, just one point behind the second placers and the good news is they are 30 points clear of 4th place with the B team in 5th. The U13 boys have moved into second place and the U15 boys have moved up to 3rd place in the league. The U15 girls, all in their first year in the age group, are in 6th place. In the U11 race Josh Pay ran very well to come 3rd, however he is too young to compete in the U13.
Full results are on the Sussex AA website. The 3rd Fixture is at Lancing on the 6th December
