Lizzie Korczak has obliterated the Sussex AA senior women’s javelin record with a sensational throw of 58.10m – an improvement of nearly six metres on the previous mark and almost eight metres beyond her personal best.
The long-standing record of 52.43m, set by Katy Watts (Portsmouth) in 2009, had remained untouched for 15 years – until now. Lizzie’s previous best stood at 50.62m, making this a truly remarkable breakthrough.
Competing for her university at a meet in Florida, Lizzie was in exceptional form, throwing beyond 55 metres with every attempt. Her record-breaking performance now places her seventh on the UK All-Time list.
