Happy 90th Birthday Hugh Foord

Hugh Foord, the Brighton and Hove AC veteran and former International athlete celebrated his 90th birthday today by completing the Hove Parkrun and achieving his aim of breaking the M90-94 course record coming home with a time of 49.13.

A running compatriot of Roger Bannister, Foord was a member of the Great Britain running team in the 1950’s, competing in the six-mile event. He represented England at the Commonwealth Games and narrowly missed out on an Olympic place.

Hugh now holds three Hove Parkrun records M90, M85 and M80. the latter being a rather remarkable time of 28:31.
