FREE Race Walking Training At Withdean Stadium on Friday 25th April

April 15, 2014

Do you want to learn to race walk and have the opportunity to compete? If you are 9 or over come down to Withdean Stadium on Friday 25th April – for a free coaching session with Peter Selby.  The session from 18:30 – 20:00 is open to members and non-members alike, so if any parents want to join in you are welcome.

Pete Selby is a qualified race walking coach and judge. He aims  to increase participation in the sport and knowledge of the rules. As with running, race walking takes place on both the track and the road. Injured runners can sometimes continue race walking to maintain fitness. Also the club’s veteran’s team (age 35+) always needs walkers for the four summer league fixtures.

There will also be the chance to compete at K2 on Thursday 1st May, in an open meeting in a 1000m race walk at 8.30 pm. Age groups are from U13 to Vet and the race is free to encourage novices. See http://www.haywardsheathharriers.co.uk/hhhevents_128809.html
