Firsht Number One Over 800m whilst Witcomb takes Podium Spot at Masters

July 28, 2015

Running 2.5 seconds faster than ever before U13 Adam Firsht has broken a 33 year old Brighton & Hove AC club record after a scintillating race at Kingston on Sunday. Competing in the non-scoring 800m at the U13 inter-counties Adam ran 2:17.05 to take nearly 1.5 seconds off the 1982 mark of M. Pattenden. Adam was the fastest U13 boy over 800m on the day and his time would have won the A race by almost three seconds!

Meanwhile in Birmingham – on the same day – Adam’s coach, Pete Witcomb, came second in the 5000m (V65) at the British Masters Championships running a cracking time of 19:19.43. Pete will soon be off to the World Masters Championships in Lyon alongside clubmates Peter Crowhurst and Sarah Hewitt. We wish them all the best of luck.
