Fifth place for the Men at Sparrow’s Den.

Saturday 19th September, Sparrow’s Den

Imagine turning up to an advertised 6 stage XC relay only to find that the organisers have changed it to 4 and not told anybody! This was the case on Saturday when 6 Brighton runners turned up to contest the annual Will Bolton Memorial Relays hosted by Blackheath and Bromley Harriers.

A quick re-organisation of the teams saw Kev Mason, Andy Donno, Rob Ingham and Matt Bristow compete for the A team with Richard Airey and Dave Boyce joined in the B team by Kev and Andy doubling up with a second leg.

The course consisted of a loop round a sports field, a wooded hilly section before returning to the sports field for a final loop.

With less than a minute covering the fastest and slowest of the Brighton runners the change to the format was always going to cost us so, we were pleased to take 5th place, having mixed it with the like of Tonbridge and Herne Hill Harriers.

Full result to follow when it is available.
