Ferroni flies and many other great results for B&H youngsters at the Sussex Cross Country Championships at Bexhill, Saturday 3rd January 2015

January 5, 2015

Forty One Brighton AC youngsters competed in the Sussex Cross Country Championships held at Bexhill. The conditions under foot were the muddiest they have been for many years and there were many excellent performances.

In the first non-championship under 11 race Sam Duncan was narrowly beaten into 2nd and Rebecca Losh was the first girl home in 3rd place. This was followed by the U13 girls where Niamh Halloren in 4th place,Florence Robinson 6th and Lois Dooley in 12th collected the silver team medal.

In the U13 boys race it was Niamh’s brother Finn who led the team home in 6th and with Tom Roberts 10th followed by Max Brazier in 11th, they earned the bronze team medal.

In the U15 girls race Olivia Monk was 10th and in the U15 boys Tomer Tarragano was 5th, just three seconds behind 3rd place. Both athletes have another year in the age group.

In the U17 we had the highest positions with Martha Coyle in 2nd and Nancy Jones in 5th. Stephen Ferroni was in a league of his own winning by 39 seconds in the U17 Men’s.

The first five in each race have been selected to run for Sussex in Birmingham in March so well done to Niamh, Tomer, Martha, Nancy and Stephen. With another three athletes per team to be added, Finn and Florence could well be joining them.

Well done to every one, and to those I have not mentioned who competed so well. Thanks also to all the parents for your support.
