Congratulations to Brighton and Hove AC athlete Amber Anning, who ran the fastest ever 400m time for fifth place at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

The British record holder clocked a season’s best 49.36 in a historic race, where the winner, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, produced the second-fastest 400m of all time.
McLaughlin-Levrone ran 47.78, breaking a championship record that had stood for 42 years.
Amber’s run means she now owns the three fastest 400m times ever by a British woman.
