Gold rush for B&H athletes at the English Schools’ Cross-country Championships Catton Hall, 16th March 2013

In an amazing double four B&H athletes brought home the shiniest of all medals as Sussex Intermediate Boys’ and Senior Girls’ teams both took gold at the English Schools’ championships on Saturday 16th March.

Battling against mud, rain and wind first year intermediate Stephen Ferroni ran brilliantly to finish in 10th place. With Josh Woods in 17th and Jack Witt in 38th B&H boys were half of the scoring 6.

The team beat Kent into second place with 129 to 196 points.

In the Senior Girls’ race Emma Dixon had a fine run finishing 24th and coming in third for Sussex – helping the team to an emphatic victory over Surrey with 284 to 336 points.

Ian Crowe-Wright in 60th was part of the senior boy’s team, which came 11th.

The Intermediate girls’ team including Martha Coyle (89), Esther Lutz-Davies (144) and Steffi Paraskevas (198) came 13th.

Nancy Jones (99) was the only Sussex Junior girl in the top 100. Ella Witt in her first English Schools’ came 245th.

Well done to all the B&H athletes who represented Sussex.
