English National X-Country Relays

November 4, 2007

The Brighton and Hove mens team were on their travels again at the weekend. This time it was sunny Mansfield for the English National Cross Country relays.

The competition was fierce with only 4 runners per team.

Each leg was 5k consisting of two 2.5k laps of undulating parkland with a wooded section.

Andy Donno had the responsibility of running first leg and with 150 teams starting there was a mad sprint to gain position, before the race settled down. Andy came back in a time of 16.37 for 66th place.

Chris Thomson took over and looked to be going well gaining several places with a leg of 16.43 to bring us back in 55th position.

Richard Airey consolidated this position and almost matched Chris with a time of 16.49 and we were 52nd .

David Boyce then ran a solid 17.12 to bring the team home in 53rd position
