Coronavirus (COVID 19) and Athletics

March 6, 2020

Dear Members,

Public Health England’s emphasis is on personal hygiene, therefore organisers, participants and any spectators are being encouraged to maintain good hand, respiratory and personal hygiene by employing the ‘Catch It. Bin It. Kill It’ ethos. We encourage everyone to practice good hygiene, including regular hand washing to prevent the spread of germs.

The Government has issued guidance advising people who have visited category 1 areas since 19th February 2020 to take additional precautions. These precautions include self-isolation for 14 days and follow the advice of NHS 111, even if they do not have symptoms.

People that have visited category 2 areas should self-isolate and call NHS 111 if they develop symptoms.
