Bracknell, June 1st
By Pete Witcomb
A series of impressive performances and a full quota of officials helped the U13 and U15 team secure victory at the second Youth Development League match, at Bracknell on Saturday.
On a gloriously, sunny day many of the athletes set personal bests, but special mention to U13’s Amber Anning – winning all three of her events 75m sprint (10.1), 70m Hurdles (12.1) and High Jump (1.43) with personal bests; Amber Pennington in her first league meeting for the club, winning the Javelin with a PB of 23.56 and Tom Eames, the run away winner of the 1500m some 32 seconds ahead of the second placed runner, in a PB of 4:55.8.
Thank you too to our officials’ Derek Wood – Time Keeper, Track Judges David Monk and Andrew Edwards, Field Judges Mike Eames, Melanie Firsht, Helen Fitzgerald, Mike Ellis Martin and Frank Burton who gained maximum points for the team to make it a great all round performance.
We are now tying for first place. The next meeting is on 22nd June at Ashford. Please confirm if you know you are UNABLE to attend.
