On a cool but bright afternoon Brighton & Hove’s U13 team performed superbly to win the Sussex League U13 final at K2.
It was down to the wire as the boys’ “B” relay team brought home the baton in 1st place, to secure the team victory over holders Crawley, by just two points.
Congratulations to every athlete who contributed to the memorable win.
A special thank you to Carmen Adjare, whose parents cut short a family holiday in France, so that she could compete and to youngster Alisha Tsapparelli – twin sister of U13 hurdles club record holder Jessica – who stepped in to run in the “B” hurdles to ensure there were no gaps in the team. This was a day when every point counted.
B&H team captains, Georgia Coleshill and Thomas Blanden and team manager Pete Witcomb were also presented with the trophy and a glass for the team’s earlier triumph of winning the Sussex U13 League East Division.
