Brighton and Hove hurdler Bethany Close was the only Sussex athlete to medal at last weekends British Universities Indoor Championships at Sheffield. Racing in the 60m hurdles Beth, a student at Bath University, struck bronze clocking 8.66 seconds. In her semi-final Beth had beaten the eventual champion in a time of 8.61 seconds.
