Congratulations to Amber Anning, representing Sussex, who stormed to victory in the 2-lap sprint, at the Inter-county Sportshall Regional Final last Sunday. It was particularly impressive as Amber – an under 11 in Sportshall was competing against athletes up to two years older.
B&H athletes were out in force scaling the heights for Sussex. In the boys’ competition Henry Golton brought home a bronze medal with a High Jump of 1.30m and Tomas de Jesus was 8th with 1.20m. Meanwhile Emma Gutierrez-Waldron, in her first outing this season, came 5th in the U13 girls’ competition with a High Jump of 1.35m.
Aniera Farrar-Daniels, brought low by a cold, did well to come 5th in the Shot and 8th in the 4 lap race.
Sussex ended the day 4th in the girls’ competition and 5th in the boys with Hampshire dominating both competitions.’
