Amber Anning continued her stunning season, running 50.43s to break her own B&HAC and Sussex 400m record and move up one place to Number two in the British All-Time Indoor Rankings behind Nicola Sanders’s 50.02s.
On Saturday afternoon, Amber won her collegiate Southeastern (SEC) Indoor Championships, and 50 minutes later, clocked 22.76s over 200m for third in her heat, overall 5th place, which would have been a British Athletics record if she had not run 22.60s in January.
Amber’s times are the greatest ever British 200m and 400m double in little over 24 hours as she sped to a 50.43 victory after a 50.86 heat 24 hours earlier when she had also run 22.77 over 200m within one hour to qualify for both finals.
The SEC is the equivalent of football’s Premier League in USA Collegiate Track and Field.
