Last weekend four Brighton and Hove City AC athletes travelled to the National U20/U23 championships at Bedford.
In the 3000m steeplechase Will Gray and James McCarthy performed brilliantly. The lads worked hard all the way in this tough event, with Will taking a magnificent 3rd place and in the process knocking 7 seconds off his PB to record 9:27 whilst James battled for 4th place and clocked 9:33 another excellent PB. After the race Will was delighted to receive recognition from Luke Gunn the Men’s GB international and fastest senior man over 3k s/c. Will was also later spotted giving his autograph to several admirers!
In the U20 400m, Matt Dorrington reached the semi final dipping under 50 seconds to place 7th. Tom French competed in theU23 Long jump, recording a distance of 7:06m just 3cm outside his PB to finish in 10th.
