Volunteers needed for the Brighton 10km 19th November

November 3, 2023

Your club needs you …
….. on Sunday morning, 19th November 2023.
Calling all B&H club members from age 18 and all parents/guardians.

The Brighton 10k  https://www.brighton10k.co.uk/ is our own club’s annual road race and we need a good number of volunteers to make the day a success. This race is the oldest 10k in the city and is our club’s public showcase. This year, for the first time, we have a junior mile race before the main event. Runners are encouraged to show support by entering (see link above). Everyone else is asked to consider helping. Parents, this is a chance to volunteer alongside your children and introduce them to the volunteering concept.  Main race details can be found via the link above.

The time commitment for volunteers will be roughly from 8.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. depending on your role. The course runs out and back between Hove Lawns and Madeira Drive and most, but not all, volunteers will be asked to marshal out on the course. Helpers should not be put in a difficult situation and instructions will be given.

Historically this race has raised a great deal of money for our club which has enabled us to be in the strong position that we are today. After recent tough years and a storm cancellation in 2016, we are desperate to make every race a success. Indeed the future of the event depends on it.

A volunteer form can be found here: https://www.brighton10k.co.uk/volunteer/ . You’re encouraged to tick more than one box and volunteers will then be allocated as required by logistics. If relevant, maybe put “plus child” against your name so the organiser can put you somewhere suitable. Thank you to those who fill it in.
