There was a double triumph for Brighton & Hove athletes in the British and Irish Masters International cross country match at Glasgow on Saturday.

On a fine and bright day over an undulating course a trio of Sussex runners gained international vests and returned home with two medals apiece.

For Brighton & Hove Howard Bristow was a double gold medallist in the M40 age group. He raced away with the individual title and led the England team to victory. John Lowden won the M60 race in fine style and was a bronze medallist for England in the team event.
