Several Brighton & Hove AC athletes travelled up to Sheffield for the National Indoor Combined Events championships at the weekend.
Loughborough University student Katie Garland had an excellent competition scoring a personal best of 3599 points to finish sixth overall and third in the under 23 group whilst – despite difficulties with her long jump run up -club mate Becky Owen finished 11th with a PB of 3387 points. Becky also retained her Welsh title.
Meanwhile back down south at Lee Valley there were two medals for B&H athletes at the South of England U17/15 Indoor championships. First year u15 Arthur Haines came fifth in the 300m with 44.35s and took silver in the long jump with a fine effort of 5.23m. Under 17 Louis Goffin leapt to 11.66m in the U17 triple jump for a bronze medal.
