Strong Individual Performances at SAL but not enough Athletes

May 4, 2017

On 15th April a small Brighton & Hove team travelled to Horspath in Oxford for the first of this season’s Southern Athletics League fixtures. Despite many fine performances and possibly more first and second places than the three other teams, the club suffered from not being able to field athletes in all of the events. This lost valuable points and led to a fourth place overall.

Several of the club’s under 17 athletes performed well, including Joshua Firsht with a first place and personal best in the 400m of 52.3s, Hannah Williams who threw the senior javelin 28.15m for victory and Amber Anning who won the 200m in a time of 24.6 which earned her Woman Athlete of the Match.
