Well done to Stephen Ferroni and Nancy Jones who won their age groups at the Sussex Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Waterhall on Wednesday. Nancy had one of the narrowest margins of the day as she sprinted to the finish line to take the Intermediate Girls’ title in fine style by four seconds. Stephen won the Senior Boys’ race with a minute between him and the second placer. Congratulations also to Brodie Denholm and Tomer Tarragano who came third in the Inter and Junior Boys’ Races respectively.
These four athletes are automatically selected for the Sussex team for the English Schools’ in Blackburn in March. Great runs too from Niamh Halloren for 6th in the Junior Girls race and by Phoebe Connolly for 6th in the Senior Girls’ competition. All top 20 finishers have been invited to represent the county at the forthcoming Schools inter-counties fixture.
