Steyning Stinger

March 2, 2009

A few runners turned out for the Steyning Stinger marathon and half on first of March. Pride of place as ever to Kev ‘hard as nails de-facto semi retired Caffe Nero quaffing country gent’ Bush who relishes these challenging off road events and finished an excellent eighth in 3.36. In the half good run outs for Neil Walford who came tenth in 1.35, the fifteenth coming? and other finishers were Dave Whittle 1.40, and Jonathon Davidson in 2.09.

At the Eastbourne half. also held on Sunday first March, long time (or should that be the ever youthful?) stalwarts Terry Parkinson and Amanda Hester are obviously still loving it, recording 1.31.20 and 1.39.31 respectively. Evie Cicha recorded 1.48.13 and Pete Thompson 2.17.20

For those into their road racing note the Sussex Grand Prix has had a revitalising change in stewardship, so you can track your progress and plan your assaults. The series is great fun, very competitive, not a bit elitist and a great excuse for stopping off at a country boozer on the way back… when you are not the driver.
