Schools Success at Waterhall

The Sussex Schools Cross-Country Championships at Waterhall, Brightion was less well attended than in previous years though this did not impact on the quality at the top end of the fields.

In cold and crisp conditions Brighton & Hove AC athletes took many podium places. Our top 20 finishers gained selection for the Schools Inter-counties team and the leading four athletes were automatically selected for the Sussex English Schools team for the Norwich Championships.

There were strong perfomances int eh Junior Girls race where Lois Dooley came 3rd, just holdingoff her school and clubmate Rebecca Losh in 4th. Lacey Fowler was 10th, Gracie Bernard 12th, Jess Corbett 14th and Alex Nann was 15th.For the Junior boys Tom Roberts was 5th, Archie Rowles came 15th and Josh Pay was 19th.

Olivia Monk was 4th in the Inter girls race, Niamh Halloren was just behind in 5th and Amber Wright came in 11th.

In the Inter boys race Tomer Tarragano was 2nd and Tom Eames who was leading the race when he was directed off course, clawed his way back to finish 3rd. Finn Halloren was 16th, Max Brazier 17th and Henry Taylor 19th

For the Seniors we had two silver medallist in Brodie Denholm and Emma Gill.
