In the past two weeks, George Gilbert has smashed not one, but two U15 Boys Club Records, which have both stood for over 50 years!
On May 19th, George ran at Parliament Hill and clocked in a 1:59.63 time in the U15B category, taking the Club Record from Steve Ovett, who has held the club record since 1970 with a time of 2:00.00
Then, last night, George broke another over 50-year-old club record for the U15B 1500m, achieving a 4:05.78 run, which also breaks the Sussex County record!
The previous U15B 1500m club record was 4:10.70, held by Steve Ovett and was also set in 1970, and the County record of 4:07.18 was set by Johan Boakes in 1982
