This is an update on the storm overflow at Withdean Stadium: it’s been confirmed that the spillage is a biohazard (contains some sewage) and the stadium operators have a specialist cleaning company coming tomorrow. This means that an area of the track is still closed off for today (26th Oct 2023) and full laps of the track are still not possible. ALL ATHLETES SHOULD AVOID THE CLOSED OFF AREA AND THE IMMEDIATE AREA OF GRASS. REMEMBER BIOHAZARD!
Your coach will risk assess your session and decide whether to go ahead. Please contact your coach to find out if your training session is taking place.
The Club will not be hiring the stadium. There will be no club volunteers on the gate and we expect the normal entry and car park will be locked. Anyone attending for training should park in another car park and will have to pay for track use at the leisure centre’s reception (as we have not hired the track).
Everything should be back to normal by next week.
