Cathy Ulliott represented England Masters on Sunday in the Asda Yorkshire Marathon. A W55, she ran superbly to finish fifth in her age category in a time of 3:30:09.
Cathy said, “This was my fourth time representing England Athletics masters over the marathon distance. It was my slowest time for many years but given my build-up, it was the best I could hope for on the day and I am delighted to say I ran my first ever negative split*. I will turn 58 next month so I can truly say it’s never too late to cross new boundaries”.
*A negative split occurs when the second half of the race is run faster than the first half.
