Best of luck to our 22 athletes travelling to the English Schools Championships in Birmingham this morning. The competition begins tomorrow through to Saturday.
Special mention to our Club Secretary and Head Throws Coach, Bob Willows, who has a magnificent SEVEN athletes competing in the javelin! Several of whom, including Senior Girl and national champion Rachael Wall, Inter Boy, Louis Opoku, and Inter Girl Dulcie Yelling, should be battling for podium spots.
We have two sibling groups selected; the Yellings, with Dulcie as mentioned above and her older twin siblings Eadie and Henry, who are both selected for Steeplechase. Alongside them we have the Bliss sisters, Sophie – Junior Girls javelin – and her big sister Jessica, in the same event representing Inter Girls.
The English Schools is the most prestigious competition within the U15 to U19 age groups, and it is a great honour to represent Sussex Schools at such a high level. We are proud of all of you.
