Team medals across the board at Brooks League X-Country Match, Lancing 14th February 2015

February 25, 2015

Well done to everyone who competed in the last Brooks Sussex League fixture at Lancing and to all those who ran in previous meetings. We had 41 u/13 and u/15 that competed in at least one league meeting and in total we had 15 different scores in the two age groups.

At Lancing nine of the 10 u/13 girls will be in the same age group next year. With several away on half term holidays the u/13 girls were led home by Lois Dooley in 5th place, Pia Lewis 8th and in her first u/13 race Rebecca Losh in 11th. The team were placed 2nd in the league just six points behind Hastings, all three 3 are u/13 next year.

In the u/13 boys race it was Max Brazier who had his best run of the season to lead the team home in 6th place and with Adam Firsht 10th and third scorer Patrick Connolly in 20th the team came 3rd in the league just four points behind Chichester.

In the u/15 boys race it was again Tomer Tarragano who had another excellent run in 4th place and with Tommy Blanden who also had his best run of the season in 8th and third scorer Daniel Dunlop in his first season with the club in 17th, they finished in third place in the league.

In the U/17 girls race Martha Coyle had a brilliant run to win the senior race as well and with Nancy Jones in 4th and Alice O’Kane 12th they moved into second place in the league.

A special mention also tho the u/15 girls who were low on numbers this year and finished in sixth placeon Saturday. Olivia Monk in her first year in the age group finished in 8th. Also well done to Lucas Losh, Max Brazier, Tomer Tarragano, Tommy Blanden and Jemima Edwards who not only did all four league races, but also competed in the Sussex and Southern Championships, a great achievement.
