Two of Britain’s greatest ever throwers and our own Bob Willows, are behind a new throws academy which will be launched at Brighton University Sports Centre on 25th January 2015.
Shot Putters Judy Oakes O.B.E. and Mike Winch, alongside Throws specialists Karl Lasis and Bob aim to, “improve the chances of young athletes and their coaches” to fulfil their sporting potential.
The Elite Academy (South) will be open to youngsters aged between 13 and 23, who are ranked in the top 50 of their age group.
The Academy’s activities will be centred at Lewes ACl, Brighton and Hove AC, Crawley AC and Brighton University Sports Centre. Indoor training facilities have been made available by Wave Leisure Ltd. on inclement days at Lewes, and Brighton University have ensured the very best of strength and conditioning facilities at their sports centre in Falmer.
