It won’t officially count BUT Dulcie Yelling today threw the 2nd longest javelin mark by a Brighton and Hove under 15 girl. She lobbed her spear out to 42.69m, off a grass run up, into a properly marked out sector. It was judged by three graded officials and would have topped the UK rankings in 2019.
Dulcie last year set the UK under 13 girls javelin record of 44.02m with the lighter 400g implement.
Let’s hope she gets the chance to compete officially this season. With another year in the age group she will be gunning for Lizzie Korczak’s club record of 43.62m
