Brighton & Hove AC is saddened to report the death of our former Membership Secretary Carole Dale.
Carole was the wife of long time Club Secretary, then Treasurer and race walker Keith and she continued as Membership secretary for many years, after his untimely early death, on the track, in 1996.
This was in the days when circulations to the membership involved addressing and posting more than three hundred envelopes twice or three times a year as well as keeping an accurate list of all members.
For many years she was always present in the recorders box at Withdean, at home matches as a recorder.
Treasurer, Judith Carder, described Carole as: “highly efficient, very intelligent and an asset to the committee.”
Carole died on 29th March and a memorial service will be held on 13th June at 1400 at the Woodland Burial Ground, Bear Road Cemetery, Brighton.
