B&H Youngsters storm to victory at first YDL

April 27, 2016

Brighton & Hove’s younger athletes had a resounding victory in their first YDL match of the season. The weather at the Julie Rose stadium in Ashford varied from bright sunshine to driving rain but this did not prevent some fabulous performances and many personal bests.

The stand out athlete was U15 High Jumper Harry Rienecker–Found who leapt to new heights with a personal best of 1.80m to win the competition by 35cms and move to number two on the UK rankings.

Strong performances across the board brought B&H up from third place behind Chelmsford and Orion half way through the competition into a strong lead. The final result was B&H with 630.5 points to Chelmsford’s 547.5.

The team also received an additional 55 points for having a full quota of officials/ helpers. Well done to all the athletes, officials and team managers-Cindi, Peter (U15) and Richard (U13).
